Urban Conseration Corps members earn certifications and participate in hands-on training preparing for green jobs.

Jobs await graduates in local utility companies (MSD, LG&E and Louisville Water Company), nurseries, and natural setting municipal jobs in Louisville.

Note: Housing placement is available to young adults who are referred to us through Coalition for the Homeless.

We provide:

  • Case management and/or transitional or long-term housing placement for young adults experiencing homelessness.
  • Comprehensive supportive services, such as access to mental health, transportation assistance, job training and more.

Course will help you earn your CAMT credential, allowing you to improve your knowledge and skills boosting your reputation and confidence.

This program trains and validates your basic knowledge in areas like:

  • Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, appliance, construction, and lock and key services and repairs
  • Documenting and reporting maintenance activities in compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Professional behavior, communication skills, and personal appearance

Job placement services for graduates of the program.

Our aim is to train a new workforce to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse Brownfields. Course certifications include:

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER

  • DOT Hazardous Materials
  • CDL

Classes that utilize state-of-the-art equipment are taught with a hands-on training style by seasoned trainers.

Hazardous Waste Worker Training offers strategies and proper management to workers who may be exposed to hazardous materials while performing jobs covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard.  These and outher course options can be found on our website.

Ideal for: EMT and fire professionals, community members, school and trade school participants.

Note: This program is exclusively offered to Meyzeek Middle School students from the Smoketown Neighborhood.

This program aims to serve 75 students per year with case management, mentorship, and referrals to community resources.  The primary goal of this program is increasing attendance and educational attainment while decreasing behaviorial suspensions.

Note: The Smoketown Community Center (SCC) is an important neighborhood amenity that will serve youth and adults in Smoketown and the surrounding area.

Smoketown Community Center will offer:

* will offer a makerspace
* after school activities for youth
* hub for community activities

The GED Testing Center is open for all community members to use. Sign up for testing is handled through the Adult Basic Education Office of Jefferson County Public Schools.

Project Warm assists homeowners in keeping their homes warm in cold weather
and cool in hot weather through weatherization services provided by professional staff and volunteers.

Three main services are available at no cost to qualifying low-income homeowners and residents:
